How to ruin ’80s nights at the dollar theater
Oh, the bitter, bitter irony. The enchanting story of a man who had scissors for hands (and one of my favorite movies of all time) is playing at the dollar theater in town, and the title is butchered on the kiosk. Shockingly enough, I let my frustration for this spelling error overshadow the fact that the worst movie on the planet (OK, maybe it’s not the worst… I did see The Transporter) was playing two weeks prior to me getting the chance to spend an hour and a half developing an argument for whether or not Anthony Michael Hall became a juicer.
Sorry Peg, but blending is not the secret to fixing the damage done. It is painfully seared into my brain! And of course, I still haven’t gone back to this theater, despite the fact that 4 of of the 5 shows would’ve been killer to watch on the big screen. Sigh.

This is interesting… because I thought, “how could someone misspell scissor?”
If I were you, I would have myself believe that they ran out of the letter “s”.
I counted the letter “T” and there are a total of 5, same as the letter “s”….. there are however, 6 of the letter a. Sooooo, maybe they get more vowels?? Yes, I think that is it - you should go see your movie!!!

I wondered about that too, but then I started thinking of it like Wheel of Fortune… S is always one of the most used letters, so it just didn’t make sense. Plus it gave me an opportunity to make a great postcard out of it.

What a cool theater to play old favorites like that! I would have gone in the theater and quietly told the employee (most likely some teenager who couldn’t give a rat’s patooey) that there was a mispelling on their marquee. And then I would have felt like I did my part to make the world a better place.
And you, you Slacker! You waited 6 months to post that? Don’t think I didn’t see the showing dates ;).

You must be confusing The Transporter 1 with The Transporter 2. Hysterical and craptastic. In that order.

Love your blog and check back often to see if there are new posts. I’m also fairly neurotic about typos and such. I found that when I was scanning the text to find the misspelling before reading your blog that I was having trouble getting past the “N” in Madness. Did you notice that it looks like it’s made up of other letters?
Also, your post about CNN made me cry too, but I can’t stop reading it because it’s my favorite news source and is pretty compatible with my mobile phone (I read the news on my commute). I do find it vastly amusing when newspapers and their websites have typos. Spellcheck, anyone?

Yes, Ronnie, I did notice that too, but let it slide since I know sometimes those people get in a pinch and have to use two letters to make one. But the scissor error made me want to shudder and vomit.
And I’m with you on CNN. The most trusted name in news?! Come on, CNN, make me believe it!
In your honor, I’m posting something today. Thanks for reading!
